Flake stickers: choose for your project

Small, individually cut stickers for planners and letters. Compare washi, clear PET and raised designs, then learn what to check on a Japanese pack.

01 · Understand

Flakes or sheets? Look at the backing.

Vanfu’s die-cut pieces have separate backings; its sheets share one. BGM also offers backings larger than the printed design.

Editorial diagram: three separate flower, leaf and star stickers on the left; the same motifs on a shared rectangular backing sheet on the right. Colours and sizes are illustrative.
Loose pieces (left), a shared sheet (right). Illustration; shapes and sizes are examples.

02 · Choose an effect

What do you want to make?

Three examples, with layout ideas based on official photos and maker descriptions.

    Washi

BGM · Cafe A La Mode, Green

    15 designs × 3 each = 45 pieces. For stationery use.

Try a drink and a dessert beside your writing. One green palette ties the cafe scene together.

Check. Three copies of each design: check this if you want matching decorations.

0–3s · Flake stickers: separate pieces, different effects. An editorial diagram compares loose pieces with a shared sheet.

3–8s · Build a cafe scene. Washi: BGM, Cafe A La Mode, Green, BS-FG123. 15 designs, three of each.

8–13s · Layer a collage. Clear PET: MIND WAVE, MOMENTS, gray tone, 81358. Overlap to change the colour effect, as suggested by the maker. The moving colour diagram is illustrative.

13–18s · Add a raised accent. MIDORI, Happy Motif, 82608006. For cards and wrapping. Handle gently. The side-view diagram is illustrative and not to scale.

18–24s · 30 pieces does not mean 30 designs. MIND WAVE: six designs × five each = 30. MIDORI: five designs × six each = 30. Compare designs and copies.

03 · Read the pack

30 pieces is not 30 designs.

素材 = material: 和紙 = washi; 透明PET = clear PET.

柄 = designs; 枚 = pieces. MIND WAVE’s 6柄×各5枚 is 6 designs × 5 each. MIDORI has 5 designs × 6 each. Both total 30.

シールサイズ = sticker size. MIND WAVE’s pieces fit within H90 × W60 mm, a maximum rather than each piece’s size. パッケージサイズ = packaging size: H122 × W96 × D4 mm for this pack.

04 · Before you stick

Arrange before peeling.

Layout idea: keep the backings on while you arrange the pieces. Check the spacing, then peel and stick one at a time.

Material and “flake” do not establish waterproofing or clean removal. Check the maker’s instructions for bottles or phones. A Japanese name does not establish the country of manufacture.
